I agree three very obvious males, female's tails get nowhere near that size, if you put them next to a female the difference would be unmistakable.

ok thanks, they are my sons turts,i knew two was, just was not sure on top pic, thats why i cant tell the diffrence because they was all male :whistling2: , i have never seen a female map. yes two are false maps and the other is a miss map, i did have pics of the miss map on terripin tank many moons ago :2thumb:

I see what you mean though, although the first pic does show a big boy tail, it does look smaller (to my eyes anyway) than the tails in the other 2 pics :)

I want a male map cos I love how little they are. Like turtles, only smaller :lol2:

Apart from the size of the tail also take a look at the vent position, if it's roughly level with the edge of the carapace then it's probably female (or immature), if it's much beyond the edge of the carapace then it's male, if you see turts mating it becomes obvious why as the male's tail has to reach around and under the female's.
