The Natural History and Captive Care of the Horseshoe Whip Snake (Hemorrhois hippocrepis) LINNAEUS 1758

33 years ago I came across my first snake in the wild, a large and substantially feisty Horseshoe whip snake in Gibraltar, which after a struggle became my first pet snake. This was the species that ignited the love of snakes in me, and there has not been a year between then and now that I have not kept this species.
Here is a short article I wrote on their natural history and care, with some detail on how I create the fake rock walls this species utilises readily.
