Anybody use Mesh Sliding Doors?????

Just wondered if anyone uses mesh sliding doors on a chameleon setup?? and if so does anybody have any pictures?? I cant say ive seen it before!!

Ive been pretty much forced into doing it on my cham viv as the vivarium is built into a wardrobe arrangement so the front is going to have to be mesh in order to get good ventilation and i cant have opening doors because of the hinges on the wardrobes.

Just really wanting to see how it looks and does the wood slide ok in glass runners??

thanks

Would it be possible for you to cut out part of the wardrobe door panels and cover the open bits with mesh/screen?

its not a wardrobe conversion, i have a built in wardrobe arrangement and in the middle of it was a built in computer desk. I no longer had a need for it since purchasing a laptop so i have built a couple of viv's in the space instead

Without actually seeing your proposed set up it is a bit awkward to advise but would it be possible to insert a strip of mesh above and below the doors which could then be glass.

I have just built frames and ordered mesh to give the whole sliding mesh doors a try... probably the best option if its going to work!... just waiting for the no-nails to dry, gonna give them a sand down and see how they work in the glass sliders.

only thing different from the pic above is that the wardrobe door is back on and i have put on glass sliders top and bottom

Meshed wooden frame in glass sliders... will it work do you think??

Im having a it of trouble at the minute... it is very tight in the top sliders and thats before i add paint and yacht varnish!! its gonna take a hell of a lot of sanding :(

also because its only 6mm wood ive had to stick 90 degree metal angles on with no nails to hold it together which are catching on the overlap :(

Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

thanks

what if you were to get 6mm perspex cut to the size of each door then come in about 1 1/2" to 2" in all sides and cut out the middle so you have a frame, them you could attach your mesh to the perspex and then adding a thin strip if plastic beading with silicon on the edges of the mesh to give it a nice edge. you could also have a 2" bar running through the middle of each door to strengthen it a bit.
thats what i would try anyway, but im no expert
iv got a habit of building things in my head, so i am the only one that can see how things are suppose to look, so i understand if you haven't got a clue what im talking about.lol

Could you not just hinge the doors either side instead of the sliders?
