Hi
Has anyone else ever experienced an adult wild type axolotl develop large non pigmented patches, or even becoming completely white?
I am not talking about a fungus infection, the axolotl is perfectly healthy and the skin is smooth and healthy looking, just lacking in the spots and pigment it once had.
The axolotl was the only wild type in a clutch of leucistic eggs, but as they came from a tank with wild type and leucistic adults I didn't pay much attention to this. However at 4 years old it is changing, a sibling of its parents (wild type) that was given to a friend has been reported as now being completely white, I haven't seen this one.
Just wondering if others have seen this.
