Hi guys this is my first time posting! I have a beautiful 8 month girl called Toothless. Both of her front legs are swollen and I'm not sure what it could be? I have taken her to the vets already and they mentioned that it could be MBD but to wait another month to see if the swelling goes down. She has had calcium and multivitamins since she was with me at 6 weeks old so I would be really surprised if MBD was the case. Just wondered if anyone has seen anything similar? In my personal opinion I don't think that it is gout either

I can understand your concern

whoever, No of us can give sensible advice with regard to internal disease.

MBD is wholly avoidable and a killer

Your vet should have taken bloods to access D3 Serum levels and run X-ray. without both of these NO ONE can tell you if this Is any kind of nutritional concern.

If you have improved the UVB provision then that will help if set up properly but only over time as the blood chemistry stabilises and allows exact assimilation.

But, honestly if you have a concern then only the vet can help. I may suggest trying a different one that is reptile focussed. The worst thing to do with MBD or any of the hundreds of associated conditions is to "wait and see what happens". Simple testing can tell you exactly very quickly

good luck!

my slight issue with the above is that your vet should have OFFERED to take bloods and x-rays and to investigate highlighting reasons and costings and options, up to the owner then what they wish to do or not. They won't just do it.

I wouldn't say i can see much in the picture that is wrong in my opinion, but i am sure you know your beardie. And agree with John that if you are concerned enough seek a vet with good reptile knowledge and experience. You can search here, online or ask your local vets for this info.
