My daughter asked me what the collective noun for snake eggs was. I assume it's a clutch the same as for birds eggs. Got me thinking what is the collective name for a group of snakes.

Having googled this I discovered

a quiver of cobras (maybe that should more apply to their prey?)

a rhumba of rattlesnakes (presumably dancing to their rattle)

a den, bed, knot, nest, pit or trogle of snakes.

None of the general words really sounded snake like to me - so what would you call a group of snakes

My suggestion - an enchantment of snakes
