I don't get how you can tell it 'may' have dislocated its jaw during shedding??? The skin is normally rolled up like a sock and as it is soft it becomes stretched and distorted.

yeah its fine hes re-lined it back, normally when my other snakes and him shed its mouth area is closed so to speak to just wanted to check really

He only hatched in march and this is his 3rd shed since being with me so just wanted to check really as ive never seen a snake shed with an open mouth like this before....come to think of it ive never seen a snake actually shed, always just found the shed twisted up in his cave after lol

Never seen one 'closed' to be fair (all rolled up or squished sure) . When it sheds it'll start by opening/rubbing its mouth to loosen the skin, as this is the easiest and first place the shed will start to come off. The top half rolls of the head and the lower stuff the lower jaw so you would expect it too look open really wouldn't you? lol

bare in mind the shed wont be conected over the mouth, for obvious reasons - the snake has to be able to open it's mouth... so the chances are it did shed with it's mouth closed, but the shed just looks like it had it's mouth open because it's head sheds in upper and lower sections...

Theres nothing wrong with it - its a normal shed.
