going by the crown i would say male , big boy

 

Only measures 17" nose to tip of tail (has slight tail nip) but does seem to look bigger in pics

It looks female to me and its belly looks like mine did when she was gravid, but I'm not 100%. If it is digging I would put a lay box in just incase. My female also went off her food when she was due to lay.

I'm convincing myself it is a girl now as belly feels full and the digging seems out of normal behaviour

Think I will sort out a lay box to be on the safe side

How old is the dragon ? from the look of the picture I would say without doubt a female, males have a row of spots either side.

 

2+ years old not 100% sure we have only had her since the end of Feb.

Glad to know its a girl as was worrying about the lack of eating and the sudden urge to dig so at least now I can sort her out a proper lay box

well i stand corrected lol , she been with a male , i got 7 eggs incubating at this moment 3 look hopeful

 

not been near a male so wont need to worry about incubating anything.

I would love to own one from a baby as mine has such a great personality that all the people have fallen in love with her. Although I wouldn't breed from her as she is still quite small .

Just in the process of building her a proper viv so will have to pull my finger out now to get it finished.

 

our two are in a 6x3x2 viv has a 3 feet fish tank on the bottom heated and filtered they love a good swim , going to change soon as i just got a 6feet fish tank going to go up 5 feet and give them six feet of warer to swim in

Only going 4x4x2 for mine but will be 4ft tank in bottom just need to get the last of the wood to finish the shell and then get it decorated up

 

Thanks all for the help managed to get a lay box sorted on monday and she has been digging in it a bit, but just went to check on her and she is currently sat on a pile of eggs:gasp:

Certainly a healthy looking CWD you have there.

I shall go ahead and confirm the rest of them and say it's female.

Females are spotted in 3 ways.

1. Crest size, although yours is well developed and from that would actually be mistaken for male, it's not a perfectly reliable way to identify but can be used to give an idea.

2. Body shape, thankfully in the picture she is looking quite clearly gravid to demonstrate this even more, but the body shape of a female is very abdomen heavy in comparison to a female, this is true from head to tail and top to bottom.

3. The pores, the femoral pores in that picture are small and not risen like a males would be.
