Hi there! So i'm new to this forum and relatively new to the herping world. I was hoping some of you would be able to enlighten me with your wisdom on how I could decorate the new viv that I plan on building. My BTS is currently in a 4ft viv but i'm not happy with the width of the viv and he's growing fast! He's currently around 4 months old and is a nice 30cm in length so I feel like its time to make him a new home. I haven't decided on exact dimensions but I plan to make it more square to give him more floor space. Currently, decoration wise he has some cork bark, a few pieces of wood and some plants. he has aspen as substrate. I was just wondering if he would appreciate me buiding him a ledge to climb on or whether he might struggle. I was also wondering if aspen is the best substrate for him since i've seen a number of people design their vivs more like a barky forest that rocky. Any help or advice would be appreciated. I want to make it as nice as I possibly can for him. Thank you! :)

Hiya

Have a look at the top of the habitat picture section to see my BTS setup. I use cypress mulch for his substrate. I have a hide at each end, one filled with timothy hay. A large rock underneath his UV bulb to bask and also a flat rock directly underneath his heat lamp. Since moving mine from a 4ft to a 6ft setup I have found he really utilises the extra space.
