Thanks so much. I don't think that could be any clearer. Man in local pet store told me to look under beardie for glands between back legs. Very hard to tell.
Paul.
No problem : victory:

I had dragons here of all ages so thought it would be helpfull for others to see how sexing should be done and also taking pictures of them to analyze helps me learn.

Can anyone take my beardie?

Hi,
I have a 2 year old beardie which I am positive is a female.
She is very tame. I am working away from home a lot now and need someone to take her. I have tried the pet shop but they are reluctant. I live in Ealing W5 (West London). It would be great to find her a good home as she is getting a bit neglected. She is very healthy.

Hey guys,

Recently bought two bearded dragons separately, the 'orange' one was introduced a month or two after Dolly - a female (last image). The orange one is showing signs of a male, such as trying to mount, biting at the tail / neck and general dominating behavior. Could any one help me determine the gender of the orange one? It often has a dark beard, I am intrigued as the shop said it was female. I cannot insert images at the moment - but please visit my flickr page with the uploaded images (Flickr: williammahy's Photostream). I cannot find the lumps as most people have recommended checking. The orange one seems to have a bigger head and the pointy scales are greater than the other female in the tank.

If it is female, should I be worried of the behavior of the it? Or is it normal that two females would act this way? Thank you for any help that can be provided.

Regards

Bill

I have had a female with a black beard and also another female I had a few years back used to bite and mount the male.

Hi imginy,

Cheers for helping me determine her gender! I was real thrown off by her behaviour, I'll look into separating them! It's only the orange one which is playing up, dolly is totally chilled as normal.

Cheers again,

Bill
