5 Still available , early days , I know , but no one interested ??

Of course thier tails havent been docked , even though I prefer males not to have a tail , and I know a man who could have done it ... I felt above all else that it just wasnt worth all the hassles that would come with it , so YES they all have a lovely tail at no extra cost to you .....:2thumb:

I recently enquired about this for a HPR dog breeder (well actually, it was 5 weeks ago, but alas obviously they only just go back to me last week!!) and according to DEFRA only working dogs may be docked by somebody permitted to do so (doesn't necessarily mean a vet), finding somebody to do it is another story as well, most permitted persons refuse and of course they reserve the right to do so...

as you say most vets wont do it but i know a couple of vets who still dock and if they r willing to do this as u said its up to them but it not band altogether [yet] : victory:
No doubt vets still do but a lot of the 'new' vets (most of the old-time vets will have worked dogs or docked working dogs as a general procedure before) disagree with it unfortunately!

Docking is banned in the UK except Northern Ireland apart from working dogs - this has been the law since 2007.

Here is a link - the laws vary slightly in each part of the UK. If a vet is carrying out docking on dogs not specified in the regulations (or for non-medical reasons) it looks like he is breaking the law

Tail Docking in the UK as at 6 April 2007
It's worth noting that the Rottweiler is a working breed, but again a lot of vets don't agree with docking them due to their tails (much like they disagree with docking springers, cockers, sprockers, most terriers etc) and it IS illegal if the *dog* isn't a working dog.
