Hi Folks,

Iv been emailing the TT since SEPT/OCT looking for my certificate of the online course i did. They've pammed me off a few times saying it must have been lost in the post and they would send another - but still nothing!! It's not the end of the world, but i paid for the course n I want my certificate!
Has anyone else had this problem? or any advice? - I still email every week but these appear to be ignored!! So frustrating!! :bash:

Could you write and ask for it, then it might not be ignored. Although best to wait til the New Year what with all the Christmas post and weather is set to turn again!

I imagine it is annoying - although it seems trivial, I imagine its one of those things that just irritates. As you say, you paid for the course and completed it. Did they ever say how often they send out certificates? I presume you can do the course at any time but perhaps they only send them out once or twice a year in batches.

I'm in exactly the same situation. I completed the course in the summer but have not had the certificate. I keep emailing and occasionally get a rude email back saying it's been lost in the post (how unlucky they are to have every single copy they try to send me disappear thanks to royal mail :whistling2: ). Today I was assured it would arrive any day now. Will let you know if it does!

I think I'd be asking for a refund!

Sue 'em via the Small Claims Track. You can target any one of the Trustees - they're all jointly & severally liable.

This shabby treatment should be highlighted bearing in mind Highfield's hair trigger scurrying to the lawyers whenever he thinks his precious reputation has been infringed.

Well well, big brother must be watchin! :lol2:
Thanks every1 for keeping this thread current as today (as by magic coincidence!) I recieved my certificate TODAY!
For the benefit of those still waiting here is what the letter alongside it reads........

'Please note that we have had a very large number of certificates go missing. As we have no way of knowing for sure who recieved them and who did not, we have re-issued all certificates from Aug 2010 until the present date. We apologise if you did not recieved your certificate on time, or if this turns out to be a duplicate. We were sending these out in card backed A4 envolopes, but the loss rate is just too high. We are therefore now sending them in thinner, A5 envolopes in the hope that delivery will be more reliable. This does necessitate a fold - but is preferable to not arriving at all.'

This was sent from a Spain address, as previously suggested and the email address I have been replying to (tortoisetrust@aol.com) is quoted as a contact - so either they have been previously ignoring my emails or they have so many complaints they cant keep track...........:whistling2:

I was thinking of doing this course in the summer and would be interested in knowing what you think of it and how much time it realistically takes. I've got kids so time is at a premium!

I have been a member of the TT for 15 years now but I have often thought about cancelling my direct debit as the newsletters are so infrequent. I suppose I view my support of the TT more as a charitable donation that helps protect animals that I love rather than joining an organisation that gives me something in return like the IHS.

Just remembered that I am also waiting for a certificate for a day course that I completed in Edinburgh....at least 10 years ago...isn't the post slow these days!!!!
