Hi. My neighbour had his trees trimmed today so I took the opportunity to get some nice fresh cut branches for my boa and royal's viv. He said they are weeping willow trees. Are they safe for the vivs?. They are way too big to bake so I was going to scrub them with F10 in the bath and then let them dry before putting them in.

No need. Snakes don't need a sterile environment. Just let them dry out for a month or so, then a good brush with a stiff bristled brush, and stick them in the viv.

I recall reading somewhere that as a general rule of thumb any deciduous wood is fine, whereas evergreen wood is more problematic (caustic sap I think?).
