Zen Habitats UK

I am proud and excited to announce that Zen Habitats are officially coming to the UK!

Here at Zen, we offer larger than average, stackable, and highly customisable vivariums for all of your reptile needs.

Our most popular enclosure is our 4'x'2'x2' wood panel enclosure, popular with Bearded dragon owners.
The 4'x2'x2' enclosure is also available in a PVC panel option, great for species that require higher humidity, such as royal pythons.

We also offer arboreal setups, such as our 2'x2'x4' PVC panel enclosure, as well as our 4'x2'x4' PVC panel enclosure.

In addition to our enclosures, we also offer a variety of reptile accessories, such as our sell-out Zen Mat for bearded dragons, and an extension kit to increase your enclosure sizes.

All of our enclosures come with optional, free substrate shields, as well as optional humidity shields (to help boost humidity), and 2 options for either solid or rubber grommets for your wiring needs.

Other features:
  • Galvanized steel mesh tops to the enclosures to allow for ventilation. Our galvanization process prevents oxidization of the steel and is safe for all reptiles and amphibians.
  • Sturdy support bars for suspending decor, heating and lighting.
  • Sliding/removable acrylic doors.
  • PVC enclosures support 0%-100% humidity needs.
  • PVC enclosures support under tank heating.

We are seeking retailers and wholesalers in the UK ahead of our launch this summer. If you'd be interested in being added to our list of interested stockists, please email me over at emma@zenhabitats.com

I've just had a look at the website. A standard 4x2x2ft is $329 which works out at roughly £230.

As a retailer, I would be interested. I like the modularity of the product, i expect it flat packs for shipping well and would be cheap to ship too. But the UK market is drastically different to the US. Over the pond, they don't regularly use wooden vivs and they are expensive. Here, we can pick up a brand new 18mm Melamine Viv, 4x2x2ft for just £99 (Repti-Life used as an example). I can't see this working long term in our market. More's the pity as they are lovely looking vivs.

I'm interested in the above too, but also what is the weight bearing capacity of these, especially when stacked. Is it possible, for example, for a 4x2x2ft to have a 5inch soil based substrate, with rocks, wood, and an animal and all lighting, stacked on top of another.

I would also be interested in what thickness the panels are, they look extremely thin in all the review video's I have watched.

Do these still have that substrate barrier which we have to connect ourselves using the sticky pads you provide? Personally, for the price of these enclosures I would expect the substrate barrier to be fully fitted and not set together with a piece of sticky pad which could eventually lose it's grip.

What also concerns me is having posted the same post on nearly all the sections on the forum, and opinions and questions being raised that she hasn't come back with follow up replies. If this is the sort of "customer relations" we can expect before they are trading (notice she said "are coming" not "here") I wonder what their post sales support would be like !

Thanks to the handy new function that shows similar threads below, there's one from 10 months ago about this viv style coming to the UK.

All the exact same points were raised, by the same people nonetheless, and all ignored by the OP.

It seems they feel it necessary to push forward, which is fair enough. But like the BioPod, I think this will drop off the map quietly and quickly.
