Hello,

I was just wondering about veiled chameleons and what heat sources do you need to use for them, What heat sources do you need to have for veiled chameleons??? (e.g. heat mat, heat lamp, heat rock)

They need a dedicated basking area of 90-105F.

The usual method is a house hold reflector bulb (you can buy them in multi boxes at B&Q for a few quid) on a dimmer stat. Or if your set up allows you can combine heat and UV requirements with an MVB (mercury vapour bulb). These cannot be used with a stat.

Heat and UV need to be on for 10-12 hours during the day. No lighting at night. You shouldn't need heating at night either as they are fine with temps down to 40F at night.
