They need a dedicated basking area of 90-105F.

The usual method is a house hold reflector bulb (you can buy them in multi boxes at B&Q for a few quid) on a dimmer stat. Or if your set up allows you can combine heat and UV requirements with an MVB (mercury vapour bulb). These cannot be used with a stat.

Heat and UV need to be on for 10-12 hours during the day. No lighting at night. You shouldn't need heating at night either as they are fine with temps down to 40F at night.

I have a ceramic bulb (with a guard) in with my cham just because of all the mesh I find it heats the tank better, I have a 5.0 UV tube aswell.
I dnt use heat mat. ...with chams I think UV strips are better and run them floor to celing rather than across so he can get the benefits of UV if he is at the bottom of his viv or the top.
