I feed my year old boy a small mouse once a week.

 

Hey guys I recently got a Hognose (I'd guess he is a little below a year old) and was told by the shop he has a fuzzy once a week. However I have heard that they are better fed more regularly.

If it helps I fed him on Saturday and he pooped yesterday, now he is very active. Also he is roughly 14 inches long.

mouse or rat? maybe up his food size and see how he goes - 14" is fine for a year old - they dont get very big

 

he is on mouse fuzzies atm, reading the responses so far I think I may go for two fuzzies a week

 

Mine get fed a small item twice a week

 

thanks for all the responses, I'll give him the last fuzzy today then pick up some bigger things ready for his next feed

 

A fuzzy is a bit small for a 14inch hog. I would go for a small mouse every 3/4 days.

Hogs have a very quick metabolism for a colubrid.

What are your temps?
